The official trailer for the second season of Squid Game has dropped, and it’s raising the big question: why on earth would anyone willingly dive back into this deadly competition?
Once again, we’re seeing some iconic symbols from the original series make a comeback in the trailer, such as the see-through piggy bank stuffed with cash, the menacing little girl statue, and a few familiar faces from the cast. What really has me excited, though, is the clever dialogue teased in the preview. A standout line, “Those who created this game, we should fight them,” could very well become the catchphrase of 2024, just as “They got mansions, think we should rob them” was back in 2002. And believe me, that’s high praise.
Debuting on Netflix on December 26, Season 2 arrives with sky-high expectations. The first season took the globe by storm, becoming Netflix’s top-viewed series worldwide. The only thing more staggering than its 1.65 billion viewing hours in the first month? The sheer amount of money competing streamers and content creators are pouring into riding the wave of Squid Game’s massive popularity. If you’re itching for more Squid Game while waiting for the new season, Amazon Prime has something similar to tide you over.
