Oh wow, where to start with this… Okay, so I’m talking about this game called Arken Age. It first came out for PSVR 2 and PC VR earlier this year. Now — and here’s the twist — it’s making its way to Quest 3 and Quest 3S… this November! I mean, who saw that coming? And get this, it’s supposed to be one of those “immersive” games everyone’s raving about. I played it, and yeah… it kind of sucks you in. Felt like I was in another world, honestly.
You ever play Stormland or Lone Echo? I did. Like, ages ago. Those vibes just hit you right in the feels, you know? Arken Age is like their weird cousin or something. It’s got this mix of ranged and melee combat — a whole lot of climbing too. Vertical as heck. Made me feel like Spider-Man, except less spandex. They really nailed the ‘hands-on’ vibe. Pretty sure the devs spent hours in VR themselves… probably eating virtual donuts or something.
Oh! And embodiment and diegetic design… fancy terms, right? I didn’t know what they were until I looked it up. Basically, it means you feel like you’re actually in the game. Like, REALLY there. The graphics? Better than average. The Quest port looks… well, not bad! Not identical to the other platforms, but hey, what can you do? It’s portable!
Why does it look good on Quest 3 and Quest 3S, you ask? Because those headsets have more power. Quest 2… sorry buddy, you’re too old for this ride! The release is set for November. No price yet, which is annoying. Adding it to my wishlist — you should too, unless you’re like super anti-wishlist. Anyway — wait, no — that’s all I got. Happy gaming, or whatever!
