Sure thing, here goes:

So, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Yeah, it crashed onto the scene way earlier than folks expected. Activision just couldn’t hold back, right? Instead of the typical last-minute reveal, they just went ahead and dropped a trailer at the 2025 Xbox Game Showcase. It was… kind of a lot, maybe? They let us peek at the good ol’ Zombies mode making a comeback, and there’s this soldier, wrapped head-to-toe in camo. Tech galore, people. And oh, characters from Black Ops 2 are back, too. It’s a nostalgia trip, I guess.
But there’s a hiccup. I mean, wouldn’t it make sense to toss these characters into Black Ops 6 as Operators to warm us up for the new game? Sounds smart, right? Except, there’s this elephant in the room—Menendez. Yeah, him.
Picture this: timelines are as messed up as tangled earbuds. David Mason in Black Ops 7? Sure, why not. Canonically dead guys like Jason Hudson are running around too. And then there’s this bonkers collab on BO7 with Beavis and Butthead, and TMNT. Immersive storytelling, am I right?
The real snag? BO6’s got this Menendez tribute thing. If he’s the Season 5 or 6 headliner, fans could be like, “eh, seen it.” The dude’s already got a free skin in-game.
Now, the Black Ops 6 prestige rewards—they’re slick. Really, the incentive to level up is solid. We’re talking blueprints, flashy emblems, all that jazz. But here’s the kicker: there’s a Toro skin channeling Menendez’s vibe. Prestige 5, level 50, and pow! “Absolute Loss” skin is yours. Looks like Menendez but with a black patch—censorship issues, maybe? I dunno.
But here’s the awkward part. The Toro skin, it’s like Menendez lite. White suit, dark shirt, grey hair—a Menendez doppelganger. So, what happens if the real Menendez waltzes in later? Could be anticlimactic. Those who grinded hard might feel like, “What was the point?” Unless they’re chill with their wannabe Menendez version, why shell out for the real deal, right?
Treyarch’s got a conundrum. They could make Menendez worthwhile by shaking things up. Maybe show him during his more youthful days, the timeline fits and all. Or jazz him up with snazzy voice lines—‘cause we all know a cool quote can make an Operator pop.
Timing’s right; Menendez has been here before, in Vanguard no less. For a comeback to hit, Treyarch needs to ace it with his look and alternate skins. If they don’t, well, even a fake Menendez might hog the limelight.
Oh, almost forgot—Black Ops 6 got rave reviews, 9/10 to be exact. And you’ll need to be 17+ to jump in—blood, guts, and all that jazz. Released October 25, 2024, if you didn’t mark your calendar yet. Okay, I’m rambling now… where was I?
