Alright, so here’s the thing. There’s this whole buzz about the Nintendo Switch 2 and its Nvidia DLSS stuff—which, let’s be honest, sounds like something straight out of a sci-fi flick. I mean, DLSS is like this wizardry that makes lower graphics look pretty snazzy. But, plot twist, not everyone’s jumping on the bandwagon.
Oddly enough, Nintendo’s own gem, Donkey Kong Bananza, ditched it. Why? Beats me. A bunch of tech geeks over at Digital Foundry tried to crack this open and, yeah, no DLSS magic in sight.
Oh, quick side note: some developers leaked performance hiccups in Donkey Kong Bananza. So, if things look a bit wonky, kinda expected. And, get this, Bananza was cooking for years. I guess they missed the DLSS memo while fine-tuning their bananas. But they’re using this FidelityFX thingamajig and SMAA (whatever that means) to smooth things out. Sounds fancy, right?
And Mario Kart World—like, wouldn’t you expect their top games to go all out? Nope. No DLSS, and the real HDR stuff? MIA. That one stings a bit.
I mean, will more folks hop on the DLSS train? Who knows. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond might surprise us, or not. Fingers crossed, but hey, no promises.
Anyway, keep an eye out for more juicy updates. Or don’t. It’s all one big guessing game at this point.
