Release Date for Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Accidentally Revealed on PSN

Recently, Konami dropped a release date trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta, hinting at some exciting additions to this remake. While the specifics remain mysterious, the anticipation is palpable. Past versions, like Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence, really upped the ante with features like Metal Gear Online and classic throwbacks including Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

Even though Konami hasn’t formally shouted about the summer release of Metal Gear Solid Delta from the rooftops yet, the trailer announcing the long-awaited date looks pretty legit. With rumors swirling about an upcoming State of Play presentation from Sony, an official announcement seems right around the corner. In fact, Polygon has reached out to Konami for confirmation on MGS Delta’s August release and promises to keep everyone updated.

Originally hitting the shelves for PlayStation 2 in 2004, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater takes us back to the 1960s. As a prequel to the original Metal Gear, players step into the boots of Naked Snake, also known as Big Boss, who’s famously the antagonist in the first game of the series. Set against the backdrop of Soviet Russia, this installment introduced players to stealth gameplay with a fresh camouflage twist and close-quarters combat mechanics.

Coming off the heels of the divisive yet groundbreaking Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the third entry was hailed by critics and players alike. Its unforgettable storyline, epic boss battles, and the iconic ladder-climbing scene created a beloved chapter in the Metal Gear saga.
