Sure thing, let’s dive in.

So, there’s this VR studio, nDreams, and they’re cooking up something pretty special. They’re about to launch a game that’s supposed to be the most immersive thing they’ve done yet. The studio’s offshoot, nDreams Elevation, is the brain behind it all. I stumbled upon some behind-the-scenes scoop, and it’s wild how they’re pulling off this whole immersion thing.
They’ve called the game “Reach.” (Why? No clue, honestly.) They showed some teaser bits last week, and it looks like it’s going to be all about flipping and fighting, like parkour stuff in a VR world. Basically, it’s jammed with VR-style moves and battles.
Matt Duff, who’s like the design head honcho over there, says Reach is built on these three ideas: action, adventure, and presence. They’re going all-in on making it feel real—like, grabbing and pulling yourself around is just part of it.
Jumping! Okay, who tries to make jumping work in VR? Well, they do. Matt insists they’ve nailed it with some kind of magic gesture thing that fools your brain into thinking you’re actually doing it. Weird, right?
And they want you to mess around with everything. See a wall? Climb it. Toy lying around? Grab it. It’s all about player choice.
They’ve got this “Full-body Awareness” deal. Just means no floating hands like some VR games where you’re a freaky ghost. Here, you’ve got a full body, moving how you’d expect it to, and it adds more… I dunno, presence? Yeah, presence.
Now, combat’s in there too. Matt says it’s a blend of frantic fights and sneaky stealth moments. Use a bow if you like, and get this—there are arrow types, like ones that explode or freeze stuff. Stealthy types can lure bad guys with a trick shot and then sneak in for a—um—ninja-like finish? Sorta.
You can already wish for this game on stores for the Quest 3, PSVR 2, and Steam, waiting for the big launch later this year. So yeah, pretty hyped over here.
