Okay, so here’s the deal: Bigscreen is finally sending out their Beyond 2 VR headset. You know, the sleek, featherweight one? Yeah, it’s been a hot topic. They hit a snag in production though. Who saw that coming? (Joking—everyone saw it coming.) Anyway, they just blogged about it, saying they’re trying to catch up with all those pre-orders through August and further on. Like, way further.
If you’re ordering now, expect it around… I dunno, maybe September? It’s a bit hazy, but it sounds like they’re aiming to wrap things up by September’s end and move to quick-ship mode. Fingers crossed!
Oh, and Beyond 2 has a sibling, Beyond 2e. The “e” stands for eye-tracking. Not very original, but hey, it works. Prices are $1,019 for the basic one and $1,219 with the eye stuff. Direct from Bigscreen, by the way.
Get this: when they first put Beyond 2 up for grabs, it outsold the old model by a landslide in just a day. Crazy, right? First 24 hours beat four months of the original. And then in just 11 days, sales topped Beyond 1’s entire year. Not bad at all.
They’re boosting production in LA and ramping up staff. New techies and customer support coming in hot. Plus, sending engineers abroad to make sure everyone’s doing their job right. Good move.
For other goodies: if you got the Custom-Fit Cushions before May 7th, expect them by mid-August. Halo Mounts are another story—think late September or October. Manufacturing hiccups, surprise.
And here’s something neat. If you’re stuck waiting on a Beyond 1, congrats! You get an upgrade to Beyond 2. No extra cost. They’re promising July 25th for those shipments.
Lastly, remember all those tariff talks? Bigscreen swore in April they wouldn’t hike prices due to those pesky charges on Chinese-made stuff. So far, they’ve kept their word. Duplicitous tariffs. Gah.
