First Look at ‘Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons’ Gameplay, Launching on VR & Flatscreen in Late 2025

Okay, so here’s the thing—Resolution Games just dropped a sneak peek of something wicked. It’s like a mash-up of Demeo and Dungeons & Dragons. Oh, they’re calling it Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked or something. I guess Hasbro’s in on it too. No big surprise there. I saw this short clip, and I swear, it felt like watching a mini-movie.

First, this thing looks like Demeo, which—if you haven’t played—is like, you get together with a bunch of pals online and wander through these dungeons packed with monsters. Now, they’ve just thrown in some Dungeons & Dragons magic. I think I got a bit sidetracked just thinking about battling goblins with three other buds. Classic me.

So, what’s gameplay like? Basically, it’s a mix of turn-based battles on this grid with action points and dice rolls. Yeah, it’s got this die with three sides. There’s a single sword for “Yay, a hit!” and double swords for when you’re really showing off. Sadly, there’s also a skull—because, you know, sometimes life throws you a critical fail just for kicks. There are action cards too, which is nice for those of us who always get stuck thinking about our next move.

Another thing—they’re going hybrid with this one. So, you can dive in with VR or just stick to a regular flat screen. I’ve got a Quest 3 hanging around, so I’m half tempted. Wonder how it’ll look. Anyway, you can play on your trusty PS5, Steam, or whatever VR setup you have. They’re going all-in.

Oh, and apparently, late 2025’s when they’re letting us have it. Only if they stick to their plans, but hey, I’m not in charge here. And word is, they’ve roped in Matt Sernett—big D&D guy—to keep the story legit. If you’ve played Baldur’s Gate, you know the vibe.
