Alright, so get this. There’s this game studio, Maze Theory, right? They drop a job listing out of nowhere. And it’s all like, “Hey, we’re cooking up something big after our Thief VR thing.” Sounds like they’re tying it to some movie that’s coming out, too. Honestly, I can’t remember whether I read this after my third coffee or mid-scroll while half-watching TV. Anyway—what was I saying? Oh, yeah. This job post, it’s for this mysterious “Project Xeno.” Dramatic, huh?
Maze Theory’s on the hunt for a Lead Gameplay Designer, or maybe it’s a Creative Lead. I swear, these titles are getting fancier by the day. They promise it’s gonna be this jaw-dropping, immersive thing for VR. Whatever that means. Like, VR’s already immersive, right? So are we talking next-level mind-melding stuff here? Or just the usual? It’s tied to a “flagship IP” they say. Super hush-hush though. Could be sci-fi, all emotional and whatnot. My mind went straight to Alien. You know, Ridley Scott’s got a new one coming. Xenomorphs and all. But who’s to say? It’s just my brain making leaps, could be nothing.
Maze Theory isn’t new to the whole licensed game spaz. They did the Peaky Blinders game and one for Doctor Who. Pretty cool credits, if you ask me. Oh, and besides Thief VR, they’re dabbling in quirky stuff like Freerunner Championships and some mixed reality puzzle thingy called Infinite Inside. Doesn’t ring a bell? Same here.
No dates or platforms yet—typical cliffhanger style. They’ll keep us in the loop or something. Maybe. Who knows? Keep your eyes peeled for more on Project Xeno if, you know, you care about that kind of thing.
