Okay, so here’s the deal — Resident Evil 9, yeah, it’s this thing that’s been kinda just floating around, like, forever. People have been whispering, “Oh, it’s gonna show up at this event or that one.” But every time, nope, nada. Seriously, I was starting to think it was some urban legend or something. But today, well today was a day.
So, picture this: Summer Game Fest, right? The big opening show. Capcom strolls on and drops this tidbit about the next biggie in the Resident Evil saga. There’s this dude, Jun Takeuchi — nice guy, at least on video — he goes, “Hey, thanks for backing Resident Evil, y’all. More stuff’s coming. Eventually.” Everyone kinda sighed, thinking, “Welp, not today.” But then—boom! Surprise, right at the end.
So, here’s this creepy little trailer. And boom! It’s called Resident Evil Requiem. Apparently, it’s gonna take us back to the freaky vibes of Biohazard. Not kidding, it looked intense. And here’s the kicker: you can jump in on February 27, 2026. I mean, mark that calendar, if you still own one of those.
Oh, and get this. Capcom’s been dropping hints all sneaky-like in random videos — celebrating Resident Evil 4 hitting ten million sales or something. Yeah, so sneaky I didn’t even notice. Resident Evil 9, though, they’re hyping it as some big leap forward. Though, I dunno, might not be as earth-shattering as some folks claimed. Guess we’re all just hanging on for dear life to find out.
So yeah, there’s loads we don’t know yet. How much of the leaks are true? Who even knows? Capcom’s been in the game (no pun intended) for ages. It’ll be whatever Resident Evil fans are craving for.
Naturally, the closer we get to 2026, the more juicy bits we’ll get. They’re working on this bad boy for PC, PS5, and the Xbox Series X/S. So, here’s to waiting… and waiting some more.
