Alright, here we go. Buckle up!

Okay, so imagine this: you’ve been wandering through a game for like, what, a bajillion hours? Well, not a bajillion, but 1,000 hours still feels like a feat, right? That’s what happened to some Witcher 3 fan. They were just bumbling around the vibrant chaos that is The Witcher 3: Wild Huntāseriously, itās like one big mess of monsters and magicāand then BAM! They stumble across a little hidden gem. Turns out you can save some random dude from being roasted alive outside Novigradās gates. Like, where was this guy hiding the whole time?
So yeah, this gamer missed it for ages. We’re talking years because the game dropped in what, 2015? And here they are, fighting off the same monsters and still managing to miss this scene. Maybe itās easy to overlookāor maybe we’re all just perpetually lost in video games. That feels real.
Oh, and this game isnāt just some throwaway thingāit’s a legend by now. Ports on everything from the PS5 to the Switch, keeping those hardcore fans busy. Itās all about our guy Geralt who talks to folks, slashes at beasts, and has a real moment or two.
But back to our player and Reddit (of course Reddit!). Some user named… err, something like Skip13aylesāI can never pronounce these usernames rightāposted a video showing how they saved this guy being barbecued by witch hunters. Iconic, I know! They even joked about spending all that time in-game and never knowing. Who could blame them when thereās so much happening all the time?
Once the wannabe bonfire survivorās saved, heās like, a sorcerer named Moritz. Got nabbed for using magicātypical. But if you manage to save him, you can chat afterwardāthanks to a quest called “A Matter of Life and Death.” Real dramatic, the title.
Whatās strange is you could scold Moritz for pointing you out at a partyāyou know, a masquerade one (fancy)āor tell him about Triss Merigold. Sheās all wrapped up with mages plotting an escape from some evil king. Anywayāoops, lost my placeāif I remember right, if you do this follow-up quest, Moritz seems to book it with the other mages. Sweet, huh?
And now we wait. Witcher 4 better have this same energy. I mean, Ciri might need to save more poor souls like Moritz. Who knows what sheāll face?
Man, games like this sure have a way of making 1,000 hours seem like just the start, donāt they?
