So, I heard Samsung’s about to drop some big news, all thanks to, wait for it, trade talks with South Korea. Crazy, right? The whole thing comes from some chat President Trump had, where he hinted at a massive investment.
Okay, let’s dive in — well, kind of. Samsung’s set to join the club of foreign companies that wanna throw big bucks at the US. And it’s like this game all started when Trump got into office, with Apple and TSMC being part of the early waves. Now, Samsung’s stepping in. Or so The Korea Herald says. Some serious business over there.
Trump’s going on about Samsung, saying tariffs are like, making them build these huge plants over here. It’s kinda like if these tariffs hadn’t popped up, maybe Samsung would’ve skipped out. Who even knows?
So the plan is, I guess, Samsung’s gonna invest heavily, toss in a bunch of jobs, like 10,000 of them, between Austin and Texas — no, wait — they’re both in Texas. Anyway, they’re working on some place in Taylor that might be pumping out fancy tech stuff like those highly-awaited 2nm nodes. Heard NVIDIA’s all over that.
Not to forget, Samsung’s also plotting to shuffle where they make TVs and appliances due to, what was it, quarterly earnings or some corporate speak? But, tariffs might throw a wrench in that unless a deal’s sorted out soon.
Supposedly, any big announcement’s on hold till Trump nails down the trade talk with South Korea. Could be any day now. Or maybe not. We’ll see.
