Oh wow, where do I even begin with this? Okay, so, Bandai Namco’s got something new cooking — a fresh gameplay trailer for this thing called Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Yeah, it’s a mouthful, I know. But bear with me.
Now, this isn’t gonna be your run-of-the-mill game. Apparently, they’ve got these three shops — but hold on — they’re only in the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. I mean, why make it simple, right? There’s a Sushi Shop where you can roll up some sushi, then there’s a Shuriken Shop. Yeah, you throw ninja stars. And just when you think you got it figured out, they mash it all together into a Sushi Shuriken Shop. Imagine chucking sushi while tossing shurikens. Risky business, if you ask me.
Remember those little Tamagotchi guys from the 90s? Those pocket pets you fed and cleaned up after? Well, they’re making a comeback. This game is some sort of continuation in the whole Tamagotchi Connection thing. So there’s this Great Gotchi King — sounds fancy, right? — and he’s all like, “Let’s party on Tamagotchi Planet!” And boom, next thing you know, you gotta help Prince Tamahiko jazz up his hometown for this big fest. No pressure.
Here’s the thing — they’ll have a bazillion shops in this plaza — okay, twelve, but still — and you’re running around catering to these Tamagotchi characters. Some shops, like, Dentist and stuff are making a comeback, while others like the Galette shop, which sounds delicious, are brand new. And, uh, you can actually play these shop minigames. It’s like real teamwork; they even have local multiplayer. Who knew serving up tea or fixing teeth could be so… rewarding?
Link up with some latest model toy, Tamagotchi Uni or something, and you’ll get these special goodies. Kind of like a secret club where you connect and unlock things by playing both digital and toy versions. Sneaky, huh?
Mark your calendars, ’cause Tamagotchi Plaza is hitting the shelves and going digital on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch regular and Switch 2 — worldwide — on June 27, 2025. Wow, feels like a lifetime away but also just around the corner. Time’s weird like that.
Okay, trailer time! Er, I mean, the section where you’d think I’m supposed to ramble about a trailer — but then I kind of zoned out. Anyway, what was I saying? Right, video trailers — but the screen’s just blank here. I guess we fill in the blanks with our imagination?
